In collaboration with BBC Arts and the Being Human Festival, we will be launching our Novel Perceptions project on 16 November with novelist Kit de Waal at the Being Human Festival. Novel Perceptions (http://novel-perceptions.thememorynetwork.com), which has received close to £300,000 from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), explores readers’ opinions about the literary quality of contemporary fiction and aims to contribute to the debate about creating a more inclusive, diverse canon of English Literature. At the launch event we will be talking to Kit de Waal about prejudice in the world of literature, and you’ll be invited to do an interactive quiz by rating the covers of books included in BBC’s engagement project Novels That Shaped Our World.
